The Bachelor of Science Student of SEGI University College (ADP) had the chance to take part in one of the attention-grabbing fieldwork - an expedition to the Crab Island. The purpose? To have a closer view of the tradition, culture and the lifestyle in Crab Island.
Public transportation is the least of your worries in Crab Island. While the KTM Komuter will give you a perfect view of Klang Valley from KL Sentral to Pelabuhan Klang, and also the Ketam's High Speed Ferry that took only half an hour ride away from the hustle and bustle Port Klang.
When you arrive in Pulau Ketam Village, the first thing you gonna see is "The Only Public Toilet". And yeah, you guessed it right, it flushes directly into the sea! Eww... No wonder no one is swimming... LOL!
Let's move on to something that is not so polluted, lol. Bomba Sukarelawan Pulau Ketam and the Police Station are basically the local attractions as there aren't many landmarks in Pulau Ketam.
Bomba Sukarelawan Pulau Ketam was formed in 1972, located not far from the police station. It was a need by residents of Pulau Ketam because a few fire incidents happened back in the 60s and 70s. If you look closer to the picture, you will notice that Francis is going to headbutt Eddie!
An elderly couple sells fried ice cream right in front of a clinic. Being the only fried ice cream stall in Pulau Ketam they get to monopoly the business, hehe.
As you might have guessed, most people in Pulau Ketam work as fishermen and sell seafood products. Almost each house has boat parked in front.
Pulau Ketam is indeed a seafood gourmet's paradise! Don't forget to go for its fresh crabs, prawns and fish (especially the fish balls, 2 thumbs up). If you got the chance to visit Crab Island, it's a must to stop by Kim Hoe Restaurant to try out their famous dishes.
Fried Butter Shrimp
Deep Fried Squid
Salted Egg Crab
Kum Hiung Crab (Spicy curry leaf)
OMG! is simply just the word to describe the fish balls. The fish balls is so lively that you'll actually feel that it's dancing in your mouth each time you chew it. FUYOH! (We can tell that Eddie is really enjoying his lunch)
To Kim Hoe Restaurant! CHEER! From the right: Vivian (blogger), Amy (blogger), Eddie (blogger), Nick (Stalker), Su ling, and Mr. Unknown...
